connection Information - monday Course webinar

Zoom learning videocalls will be held every other 3rd Monday starting on January 9, 2017. The webinar will be offered twice each scheduled Monday to ensure that participants from the many different timezones around the world have the option to attend live: from 8-10 AM Pacific and from 5-7 PM Pacific .

These will be learning and reflection group calls which you can connect to in one of two ways:

Computer, Tablet, Smartphone
Connecting with one of these devices will allow you to participate in webinar style - you will see any course materials presented, see Dorian and invited guest faculty, use the chat feature with all participants, and to participate via your own webcam as well. (Note: You will be able to choose to participate via audio only from your side and you’ll still be able to view the other features.) This option connects through internet so you can participate from anywhere you have internet service.

Smartphone, Cell Phone or Landline
You can also connect by audio-only through your phone. This would be the same as making a standard phone call (long distance charges may apply). See below for non-US calling information.

All of our videocalls will be recorded and posted on our course website after they take place. Any webinar slides and other materials will also be posted. Recordings will be available as mp4 files (video) and mp3 files (audio) so you can listen or watch at your convenience.

We will be using Zoom as our platform.

Prior to our first call, I recommend running a technical test to make sure your connection works and so you can familiarize yourself with Zoom’s features. You can do a test run here.

You will need to launch the Zoom application on your laptop when you connect.

Also, Zoom video class calls work best if you use a headset.

And please remember to mute yourself when you are not speaking so as to minimize background noise.
